Mustard Tree are recruiting for the following volunteer roles:
Food Delivery Driver
Volunteering hours: Minimum of 2 days per week Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm
Could you help by volunteering as a Driver, delivering food parcels to individuals and families across Greater Manchester?
Help facilitate the delivery and support the running of Mustard Tree’s emergency food parcel service.
What you’ll be doing:
- Driving a Mustard Tree van, delivering food parcels to individuals and families across Greater Manchester
- Loading and unloading the van, working within manual handling guidelines
- Working with the warehouse, delivery and helpdesk teams to co-ordinate deliveries
- Supporting the warehouse team with accepting donations
- Assisting with calls to clients awaiting food deliveries
- Liaising with staff and volunteers
- Attending team briefings
General Volunteer Duties
- Work within health and safety guidelines and Mustard Tree policies and procedures
- Embody Mustard Tree’s values and represent the charity as required
Driver’s Mate
Volunteering hours: Minimum of 2 days per week Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm
Could you help by volunteering as a Driver’s Mate, supporting the delivery of food and furniture to individuals and families across Greater Manchester?
Help facilitate the delivery and collection of furniture and food and support the running of Mustard Tree’s warehouse.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the driving team with collecting donations and making deliveries of furniture and white goods
- Loading and unloading the van, working within manual handling guidlines
- Working with the warehouse, delivery and helpdesk team to co-ordinate deliveries and collections
- Supporting the warehouse team with accepting onsite donations
- Assisting with calls to clients awaiting deliveries and collections
- Working alongside the Drivers and Driver Mentors, map reading, route planning and providing general support
- Liaising with staff and volunteers
- Attending team briefings
General Volunteering Duties
- Work within health and safety guidelines and Mustard Tree policies and procedures
- Embody Mustard Tree’s values and represent the charity as required
Facilities Management Support
Volunteering hours: Minimum of 2 days a week, Monday – Saturday Hours: A choice of either 8.30am – 1pm, 12pm – 4pm, or 8:30am – 4pm.
Could you help keep Mustard Tree safe, clean and COVID secure by volunteering as a Facilities Manger?
Help maintain the safe and efficient operation of the entire building’s facilities, keeping areas clean and tidy.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with the facilities team to make sure all contact points are cleaned on a regular basis in line with Mustard Tree guidelines and standards
- Assisting in the day-to-day cleaning responsibilities: including dusting, sweeping, hoovering and toilet cleaning
- Notifying the Facilities/Building Co-ordinator of any faults or necessary repairs and assist in rectifying these, if needed
- Sorting materials into their appropriate recycling bins, including pressing cardboard
- Liaising with staff and volunteers
- Attending team briefings
