Workshops for Music Facilitators

brighter soundBrighter Sound are hosting a series of online weekly workshops to support people working in the modern world of music facilitation.

Over six sessions the sessions will cover a range of topics, connected around the theme of health and wellbeing that respond to the current needs of music facilitators.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of how music can help people to manage their mental health and increase their wellbeing
  • Build confidence around facilitating music projects online for young people experiencing a range of mental health problems
  • Pick up ideas and practical tools for working online
  • Develop your understanding of safeguarding and setting boundaries in a workshop setting
  • Learn more about the latest evaluation methods for measuring impact on mental health
  • Meet other music facilitators and be part of a supportive network to help you develop your practice and overcome challenges

Who they’re for
Open to people at all levels of experience, these workshops are aimed at facilitators currently working, or looking to work, within informal, creative and inclusive music practice.

They’ll be especially useful for anyone interested in supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing through music.

Youth workers or mental health practitioners with an interest in music are also welcome to attend.

When and where
Between 6 November and 11 December, workshops will take place on Friday mornings (10am-12pm). All sessions will be hosted online via Zoom.

Cost
Pay what you can. Suggested cost is £5 per workshop. Brighter Sound know this is a challenging time for freelancers and the wider music industry, so only pay what you can, if anything. Brighter Sound are more interested in you coming along to share the learning experience.
