If you live in Manchester and are struggling or feeling like you need some help you can find out more about our services here manchesterming.org/our-servicesTuesday 10 October is World Mental Health Day (WMHD)

With the current anxieties and uncertainties affecting many of us, especially surrounding the cost of living crisis, it is more important than ever that we look after our mental health. Founded in 1989, the organisation now known as Manchester Mind, was created to help those from impoverished communities access the support they need, and this is still crucial today.

1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem each year. At Manchester Mind, they wholeheartedly support the World Federation of Mental Health’s theme for World Mental Health Day “Mental health is a universal human right”.

This is the “right to be protected from mental health risks, the right to available, accessible, acceptable, and good quality care, and the right to liberty, independence and inclusion in the community. Having a mental health condition should never be a reason to deprive a person of their human rights or to exclude them from decisions about their own health.”

This World Mental Health Day Manchester Mind wanted to share some information about how you can support yourself and others around you:
