Learn how to support and guide charity set-ups in your community.

This course will give you a deeper understanding of the processes involved in establishing a charity.

You’ll learn how to guide and support individuals and groups to set up charities and consider whether setting up a charity is the right decision.

We’ll give you an overview of the steps for setting up a charity in England and Wales. We’ll also share information about alternative legal structures and address common myths and misconceptions.

 

By the end of the training, you’ll:

  • consider motivations for setting up a charity
  • understand the legal parameters of setting up a charity
  • understand the key principles of different charity legal structures
  • explore other legal structures and alternatives to setting up a new organisation
  • learn the key steps to set up and register a charity in England and Wales
  • get a basic overview of the roles and responsibilities of trustees
  • explore further resources to support charity set-ups.
