Not a soft option: How the arts are reimagining youth justice

Date & time: 06 November 2025, 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Venue
Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, Bridgeford Street, Manchester, M13 9PL

Discover how creativity can help young people move away from crime in this hands-on, thought-provoking event. You’ll hear a short talk, watch two powerful short films, and take part in an interactive art workshop designed to help you see things through the eyes of young people going through arts-based justice programmes.

The session challenges the idea that the arts are a “soft option”, and instead highlights their real power to inspire behavioural change and encourage new paths forward. Put yourself in the shoes of a young person facing justice and explore how creative approaches can support rehabilitation and positively shape young lives.
