Manchester City Council is holding an information session for organisations interested in bidding to deliver a new Manchester Worklessness Programme on 1st July, 1pm-3pm, Online.
Overview
Manchester’s level of unemployment, in work poverty and residents not economically active remains high despite the national, city region and local programmes in place. Manchester proposes a targeted worklessness programme that focuses on priority places and people.
The Manchester programme will build on the innovative and successful local design and principles of WorkWell and Trailblazer and provide further reach into Manchester’s communities to increase inclusive economic growth. The programme aims to procure a collaboration of providers to deliver high equality engagement and delivery to Manchester residents. This locally designed programme will enable the city to have flexibility and freedom to design the right support. This provision will provide learning to the Government to inform future services that provide better employability support for residents including those with health conditions or disabilities.
The programme is expected to go live from January 2027 to 31 March 2029.
Who is this event for?
Organisations interested in delivering employment support services to Manchester residents. We encourage all types and sizes of organisations to attend and specifically community based/not for profit organisations, mental health providers, supported employment providers, organisations specialising in providing support to young people under 24 and employability providers.
