If you work with people and communities across Ardwick and Longsight, we’d love you to join us for the first gathering of the Ardwick & Longsight Community Support Network.
At 422, we have the privilege of speaking to many of you and we hear the same thing over and over - we’re all busy doing our jobs, supporting residents and responding to the needs we see every day. That often means there simply isn’t enough time to meet the other people and services working on our doorstep, or to keep up with everything that’s happening locally.
There are lots of city-wide networking opportunities and networks focused on particular issues or sectors. What we’d like to create is something a little different: a space for the people working directly with residents in Ardwick and Longsight to come together and share what’s happening in this part of the city.
This first event is simply about meeting one another, finding out what support and opportunities are already available locally, sharing what we’re each doing and starting to build stronger connections.
We’ll also introduce some early ideas about making local support easier to find and navigate, including a potential online platform and navigation tool.
Nothing has been formally launched or decided. This is a starting point, bringing hyper-local support together, getting to know each other and exploring what we could achieve by working more closely.
