Support from VYM and Manchester Community Central post Youth Fund Commissioning

In partnership with GMP Safer Schools Partnership Voluntary Youth Manchester (VYM) will be offering a ‘back to basics’ programme covering all aspects of project and organisational development needed to enable organisations to be able submit effective funding applications to any and all funding bodies.

This is not a ‘bid writing workshop’ per se but something much better, and will be offered over 3 full-day workshops or 10 2-hour evening workshops between April and June, with follow up and practice development bursaries offered to supplement this. The evening workshops will take place every Wednesday evening from 17 April to 19 June, while the full day workshops are currently planned for 23 April, 13 May and 14 June.

Please note that priority will be given to organisations that have been unsuccessful in recent youth commissioning processes from Ending Gang and Youth Violence Programme to Youth Fund Round 3, and to youth work providers working with young people at risk of involvement in gangs and violence (which is probably most of you).

If you are interested in the 'Back to Basics' programme, email Ross from VYM, at: [email protected]

Manchester Community Central are also in the process of organising support for groups who may not have been successful in their applications for funding to the Youth Fund/Play Fund. This will include support around:
• looking at why you weren’t successful / lessons learnt
• identifying a Plan B for your project/organisation including where to source other appropriate funding
• decommissioning - how to close down appropriately
