Would your organisation benefit from a social work student to help you?
How it works?
Universities are looking for placements for their social work students and particularly value placements in the voluntary and community sector.
The student gets important experience, you get 70-100 hours free help and you also get a one off payment of £1,000.
Once you have registered your interest we will look with the Universities for a suitable student placement. The Gaddum Centre will make sure you get the student right for you.
What we would need from you:
We are looking for organisations who:
• Are based or work in Manchester
• Have direct contact with their service users
• Can designate a named individual to supervise the student
(don’t worry if you are a small organisation we can discuss ways to support you)
Support from the Gaddum Centre
The Gaddum Centre has a long history of providing student placements so are in a good place to share what they have learnt and advise your organisation. As part of this offer the Gaddum Centre will:
• Advise you on the practicalities of hosting a student
• Make sure you get a student right for your organisation
• Facilitate an initial meeting with your organisation, the student and university
• Help with an induction pack
• Provide ongoing support tailored to you and your placements needs
