How to set goals for 2019 – get the best out of the New Year! Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People
In this workshop, GMCDP will talk about the personal and political goals as disabled people for 2019. GMCDP will talk about personal projects, and ideas for activism relating to the disabled people’s movement, and try out some strategies for effective goal-setting.

Goals don’t have to be big things – it can be a small habit you want to build up, a friend you want to reconnect with, or an event you want to attend – let’s get together and start the year in a positive way, personally and politically.

The workshops are offered at two different times - Thursday evening and Tuesday afternoon - but it will be the same workshop both times. You can attend either one, depending on your schedule: Thursday 17 January 2019, 6pm-8pm and Tuesday 22 January 2019, 1pm-3pm.

Disability and work – know your rights! – How to get support, and find work that is accessible and inclusive for you
In this workshop, GMCDP will talk about the employment rights of disabled people and support and adjustments you can get as a disabled employee, trainee, or applicant.

GMCDP will talk about job applications, and what you can do if you want to gain work experience while you are on out-of-work benefits.

Whether you are in work, applying for work, getting out-of-work benefits, or doing volunteer work – it is important to know your rights as a disabled person, so come along with your questions and share your experiences.
