The Proud TrustThe Proud Trust, the LGBT+ Youth Organisation for Greater Manchester (with North West and national projects) is seeking a trustee to join their wonderful Trustee Team. The Proud Trust are especially looking for BAME and trans people.

The Proud Trust are seeking a capable, dynamic, caring person with relevant professional experience to come on board as a volunteer on the trustee board. The Proud Trust board meets about 6 times a year for around 3 hours, plus some ad hoc meetings and flexible projects throughout the year. The role will involve around 6 hours per month including desk-based reading time.

The Proud Trust are looking for someone who is caring, capable and dedicated to helping young LGBT+ people, and has relevant professional experience. The Proud Trust are especially interested in recruiting trustees who have experience in campaigning and policy change, social enterprise/business acumen, fundraising, marketing and commissioning. The Proud Trust are keen to ensure that the makeup of the board reflects the diversity of the LGBT+ communities they serve; The Proud Trust have identified a need to increase their BAME and trans/non-binary representation on their Board of Trustees. The Proud Trust recognise that due to racism and transphobia you may not have had the opportunity to develop some of the skills listed above and will support the right trustee candidate through training to fill any skill gaps.

The Proud Trust has grown significantly in the past few years from a small charity to one with national reach and a £2.4M capital build project. The Proud Trust are looking for trustees who can help them at this new scale of work, bringing experience from other fields, and who enjoy a challenge.

Your trustee role will help the organisation grow and adapt, helping to provide more LGBT+ young people and those who work with LGBT+ young people with sorely needed youth groups, one to one support, and training.

You will join a lovely, dedicated team of trustees, and make a real and vital difference in the lives of LGBT+ young people. The Proud Trust invest in training and supporting trustees so you will gain useful transferable skills.
