The Young Ambassadors are active young people aged 15-21 who represent Young Manchester in their local communities and media platforms. Young Ambassadors have a voice in governance through Young Manchester’s grant and interview panels as well as representing them when visiting partners, completing mini-missions and organising events for young people across the city. Young Manchester believe it is vital that young people’s voices are heard when making decisions which will impact on their lives, therefore, the ambassadors are at the heart of everything they do and always have a say on where money should be invested and who should receive such money, in order to make Manchester a better place for Young People.
Young Manchester are working within the NYA guidance meaning that they are providing an online version of the programme. This means Young Manchester will be meeting via online group sessions (Zoom) and connecting young people to opportunities that are still proceeding. This is a fantastic opportunity to be productive and develop during a difficult time.
As well as contributing to Young Manchester’s work, young people are supported by them to develop their own personal and professional skills. This not only helps the ambassadors to become more employable but they also become more confident and empowered young leaders in their communities.
To become a Young Ambassador you need to be aged 15-21.
