Henshaws Visual Impairment Awareness Training

Henshaws in Greater Manchester enables people of all ages living with sight loss to make informed choices about their future. The team have been sharing their expertise in their Visual Impairment Awareness Training (VIAT) course, open to anyone who wants to know more about life with a visual impairment.

The VIAT course is a practical and engaging learning experience, aimed at helping people understand the needs and concerns of people with a visual impairment.

The team are offering a free one hour mini VIAT, available either in person, virtually via Teams or Zoom and via an e-learning platform.

Courses include sight loss facts, tips and guidance, challenging visual impairment stereotypes and misconceptions and experiencing what it is like to be visually impaired using sight loss simulation glasses and how to appropriately support those with sight loss.
