Manchester’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) will award up to £50,000 in each area to be used to support delivery of the Manchester Community Safety Strategy which focuses on keeping people safe, reducing harm and strengthening communities.
Manchester’s Community Safety Partnership are committed to driving a bold new approach to keeping children and young people safe in Manchester by tackling anti-social behaviour and violence which impacts on children and young people across the city. Manchester’s Community Safety Partnership are establishing clear, coherent and consistent approaches that have children and young people at their heart.
This programme of work builds on previous investments by Young Manchester, Children in Need and the Community Safety Partnership, in particular the Keeping Children and Young People Safe programme. The work is underpinned by funding principles:
- Children and young people’s voice – the voices and lived experiences of children and young people will be critical to all funded activity
- Quality and impact – Manchester’s Community Safety Partnership will ensure that their work is making a difference, and work with partners to build evidence, demonstrate value and champion the impact that youth and play work has on children, young people and communities
- Partnership – Manchester’s Community Safety Partnership will prioritise collaboration and collective impact, seeking to work with, and build up, others whilst building strong alliances and networks across the city
- Systems – an understanding of the complexity of the situation for children and young people in the city, and that a systems-focused approach is necessary to facilitate change having developed expertise in engaging and understanding the complex push and pull factors that increase vulnerability to exploitation.
Grants of up to £50,000 are available to deliver holistic projects focussed on direct work with children and young people. Projects should build on current strengths and focus on delivering high quality practice with children and young people. Learnings from these projects will enable the CSP to continue to build their long-term viable proposition for attracting further investment and long-term outcomes for children and young people.
Projects must be focussed on direct delivery, but you should also explicitly demonstrate:
- How evidence from your project can inform wider learning and shape future policy and practice and will engage with a city-wide agenda
- How your project builds strong partnership working at a local level, within and beyond the VCSE sector
- How you will deliver a service that reflects cultural competency and support partnership work in relation to equity
The funding is for voluntary, community and faith sector organisations only based in Manchester and/or mainly working with Manchester residents.
Please note, you are only eligible to apply if your service delivery is in the following areas:
