Help Henshaws sight loss and disability charity match for march

Sight loss and disability charity Henshaws are probably the oldest charity in the North and were founded 186 years ago.

henshawsOne of their main hubs in within the Bolton Community. This hub is a lifeline to the local community, over the past 12 months we have supported 1611 Bolton residents, and this is increasing 32% year on year. Service users have a sight impairment, sight loss and often an additional disability. Without Henshaws support, training classes and community groups service users would only leave their home for hospital or doctors’ appointments. This leads to loneliness, isolation, withdrawing from the outside world and depression, it’s heart-breaking.

Henshaws need to raise in donations £500.00 per day during the month of March, which will be matched pound for pound by a local Bolton Businessman, this would mean their services in Bolton remain in place for the next 12 months. Henshaws are a lifeline to the Bolton Community and the services they offer are life changing and saves lives.

Many of the service users in Bolton have been supported by Henshaws for 50, 60, 70 years or even longer. They attend community groups, Wednesday Lunch Club, coffee mornings, arts and crafts group, digital training, meeting with local Engagement Officers, who from the moment of diagnosis offers 1-1 support, which is reviewed on a regular basis.
