Are you a Manchester voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisation?
Would you like to share a story of your everyday activity supporting refugees and sanctuary seekers, as part of the 2023 Spirit of Manchester Story Week in May?
We are looking for 20 VCSE organisations to provide stories which we will share during the week of 22-26 May.
Spirit of Manchester Story Week is a great way of celebrating the extraordinary everyday work of the Manchester voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. Now in its seventh year, the Story Weeks have captured many stories around issues such as the cost of living crisis and the climate emergency. These have been shared widely on social media including by supporters such as Manchester City Council and Manchester Integrated Care Partnership.
In Manchester, there are over 3,000 voluntary sector organisations providing a wide range of services across the city and many provide those to people who have arrived here as refugees, asylum seekers, those fleeing conflict or persecution abroad and people seeking sanctuary. We will be sharing one everyday activity from a range of VCSE organisations over the space of a week (22-26 May) which will show the diversity and dedication of the sector in meeting the needs of people and communities across Manchester. We will then publicise this information via our website and bulletins, and on social media using the hashtag #SpiritofMcrStory.
You can provide us with a story or we can arrange an interview with you and then write up this up as a story. Using an example of someone who you have worked with and using images and quotes will help to bring the story alive.
If you would like to be part of this exciting project, please contact Helen [email protected] or Molly [email protected] or call 0161 834 9823 by Friday 12 May.
