Barlow Moor Community Association - "this really has been a lifeline to me and my family"

Through the Spirit of Manchester Fund, Barlow Moor Community Association (BMCA) have been able to support an increased number of people through the cost of living crisis. They have offered:

- Financial information advice and guidance appointments to support individuals to claim benefits they are entitled to;

- Let’s Cook sessions to provide even more people with essential skills to learn how to cook low cost meals;

- Food parcels to help support individuals to have essential food items to last them until their next pay day or to access further support such as food bank vouchers;

- Breakfast and lunches to offer a hot meal to an increased number of people who, without this provision, may go hungry.

Rachel from BMCA said that, "The Fund has massively supported individuals and without this, we would not be able to meet the increased demand on this provision. Feedback from this project has included "Thank you so much for this, this really has been a lifeline to me and my family. I cannot thank you enough" and "This lunch was lovely, thank you. I honestly haven’t ate for days so this has really helped keep me going."
