The Department of Public Health is hosting a series of stakeholder engagement events in late November / early December to support the development of a mental wellbeing strategy. The strategy will focus on a public health and social determinants approach to the prevention of mental ill-health and the promotion of good mental health and wellbeing. It will work alongside the existing healthcare system approaches to treatment and support for mental ill-health problems and conditions.
The purpose of these events are:
- To understand the issues that are faced by people of all ages in the city
- Where there are gaps and issues for specific groups, to identify which groups are most adversely affected
- To identify what opportunities there are to strengthen the support that we can offer
