African Rainbow Family are back with their annual conference, with the theme of Access to Justice! Join African Rainbow Family for insightful panels, workshops and activities all day.

This conference will be exploring the reality of accessing justice for refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK, especially those who are LGBTIQ+ and/or of African Heritage or belonging to the Global Majority community. With the original goal of reflecting on the inaccessible legal aid system in the UK, this conference will also explore other areas of justice such as in mental and sexual health, inclusive housing, racial justice and allyship. African Rainbow Family are also excited to be releasing a brand new short documentary film, with the support of their experienced production manager and staff member, Oyinkansola Falola.

Alongside this, there will be a host of amazing workshops, panels, delicious African food and networking, African Rainbow Family will also be releasing a new report to highlight the inequalities and injustices faced by those we support in accessing vital legal services while seeking asylum.

Some of the insightful and interactive workshops will include:

  • Key Barriers to Accessing Legal Aid
  • Finding Happiness Within Difficult Circumstances: Accessing Mental Health Services
  • What Can We Do to Help: The Power of Allyship
  • Justice Beyond The Grant: Inaccessibility to Housing/Employment Justice after being Granted Refugee Status
