Make Manchester Fairer are looking for 12 Manchester residents who are passionate about and have lived experience of poverty to support the delivery of the city’s Anti-Poverty Strategy. They will provide insight and constructive challenge as members of a new Making Manchester Fairer Anti-Poverty Insight Group.
About the Anti-Poverty Insight Group
A group of people with lived experience of poverty who can have a real voice in anti-poverty work, which is a key action in the Anti-Poverty Strategy
The Group will be part of the governance of the Making Manchester Fairer programme, the Council’s five-year plan to tackle health inequalities, including poverty and debt
Feedback from the Anti-Poverty Insight Group will:
- Directly inform the impact of the Anti- Poverty Strategy
- Feed into and share best practice and insights with Making Manchester Fairer governance
- Feed into Greater Manchester at a regional level
Purpose of the Insight Group:
- The Group will play a crucial role by providing invaluable insights, challenges and recommendations to shape our approach to the delivery of the Anti- Poverty Strategy
- The Group will sit on the governance structure
Applications should:
- Have a strong commitment to the four themes of the Anti-Poverty Strategy: preventing poverty, mitigating the impact of poverty, pathways out of poverty, and inclusive and effective delivery
- Bring diverse perspectives, including those with lived experience of poverty
- Be willing to engage in open and constructive dialogue and collaboration
- Be able to commit to meetings and active participation in Group activities
Rewards and recognition:
- A £12-per-hour participation fee (the real living wage)
- Reimbursement of travel expenses
Applicants must be aged 18 or over and be Manchester residents.
