Funding Priorities
Each ward has its own Community First Panel which is made up of members of your community who have come together to produce a list of priorities to improve your area. If a project fits in with these priorities then the panel may recommend it for funding.
Priorities
1. Support activities that encourage social cohesion
2. Improve the physical environment
3. Support community safety initiatives
4. Support activities involving older people

You can apply for a grant from a minimum of £250 to a maximum of £2,500 per year. The programme will run until March 2015 and funds will be available during that time.

This Community First panel has made recommendations for funding including Self Esteem and Fitness groups for women, sporting activities for young people, Football clubs and good Neighbours groups.

Our local priorities for Charlestown Ward were agreed in discussions with local politicians, key supporting partners (including local council departments, Registered Social Landlords, Police and other key organisations serving the local community) in addition local residents groups were contacted via email and telephone discussions for their input.
