Key Themes of OFSTED Inspection of Manchester 2014
Manchester has an unsatisfactory OFSTED report
The Cabinet Office is inviting voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations to apply for grants of £50,000 or more to support projects that will improve the lives of unpaid family carers in England.
The Fund is aimed at organisations with plans to expand or develop ambitious social action projects that will help to improve the lives of carers. (A carer is anyone who looks after, unpaid, a friend or family member who cannot cope without their support. This may be due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.)
The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund offers funding for specialist community and voluntary organisations working with carers or the rehabilitation of offenders or ex-offenders within the UK
Grow Your Tenner will launch at 10am on Tuesday 14 October.
Throughout the campaign, Local Giving will be matching one-time donations pound-for-pound up to £10, and monthly donations up to £10 per month for 6 months.
All charities with active memberships are eligible to receive match funding, and the campaign will run across the whole of the UK.

Friends of Hough End Hall is raising money for heritage activities (heritage walk, book: “Hough End Hall, the Story”, interactive website, mobile exhibition) connected with Hough End Hall.
Although the successful completion will not depend on them being able to purchase the Hall, it will however contribute to positioning the Hall as a key part of the Chorlton and South Manchester heritage – and show the level of community support for the idea, essential for our big Heritage Lottery Fund bid.
Voices of Ukrainians in Greater Manchester
The Voices of Ukrainians in Greater Manchester project aimed to gather stories and insights from Ukrainian nationals who recently arrived in Greater Manchester. Through 1:1 semi structured interview, we sought to understand their experiences, reflections on the community response upon arrival, their current needs, and their aspirations for the future.
We are live streaming our Sprit of Manchester Awards!
Our Spirit of Manchester Awards on Thursday 25 September will be celebrating and highlighting all the excellent work being carried out in Manchester’s voluntary and community sector.
Tune in from 7pm where you can see all the winners presented their awards by the Lord Mayor, watch Misha B perform and join in the celebration!
The Care Act 2014 will make one of the biggest changes to the Social Care landscape in 60 years. It sets out a new framework of Local Authority duties that cover social care funding and changes to the regulation of social care providers. We know there is a serious gap between public funding of social care and rising needs. Will it be the solution to the well documented Care Crisis in the UK?
