Spirit of Manchester Fund

All the money raised will go into the Spirit of Manchester Fund for local groups and charities in Manchester to continue to provide vital support.

Macc is raising money for Manchester’s community response to coronavirus. Donate to be part of Manchester’s community response to Covid-19.

Please help us raise as much money as we can to help people of Manchester who need vital support to recover from the pandemic. We are asking you to take action to help those in need. From vulnerable and older people, to local foodbanks, and mental health support groups, contribute to help your community in Manchester.

By donating, you can help a community group in Manchester support local people. Your donation could help to:

  • provide companionship for older people to prevent them from feeling isolated
  • deliver food parcels to even more families through a local foodbank
  • provide an advice and wellbeing workshop for new carers
  • run an online support group for young people who have experienced bereavement
  • provide counselling for a woman who has survived domestic abuse

About the Spirit of Manchester Fund

Macc established the Spirit of Manchester Fund in 2015 as part of the Spirit of Manchester, our annual celebration of the city’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

We raise funds to provide mini-grants for local voluntary and community groups, social enterprises or registered charities to deliver all sorts of projects for the city’s benefit. We believe the wealth of talent, skills and energy in Manchester can be unleashed for the common good with even small amounts of funding.

Macc uses every penny donated each year to fund a Mini-grants Programme, through which we offer awards of up to £500 to support local projects across the city. Organisations can apply for mini-grants through an annual programme. Each year we assemble an independent external panel to select the successful applications.

In 2019, using the monies donated last year we awarded seven mini-grants that funded the following activities:
