How the voluntary sector can navigate local government financial difficulty

Date & time: 20 November 2024, 11:00am - 11:00am

Financial difficulties within many local authorities, sometimes leading to the issuing of a section 114 notice (s114), are affecting voluntary sector organisations and communities across the country. Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales and NAVCA have recently published research into the impact of local government financial difficulty on local voluntary sector organisations.

The research provides recommendations for the voluntary sector for navigating these circumstances, as well as policy recommendations for local and central government.

All voluntary sector organisations, including local infrastructure organisations, all welcome to join this webinar.

The webinar will present the stages of financial difficulty a local authority might experience, and the significant impact these can have on the local voluntary sector. It will offer some suggestions for voluntary sector organisations to help navigate the stages and mitigate the impact on communities, bringing insights from voluntary sector groups and local infrastructure organisations involved in the research.
