International Women’s Day 2026 – Community-led women’s empowerment event

Mahtsen CIC are pleased to invite you to International Women’s Day 2026, a community-led event celebrating and supporting Eritrean and Ethiopian women in Greater Manchester. 

Purpose and focus of the event

• A health awareness session focused on improving Black women’s health outcomes, delivered by BHA
• Culturally rooted wellbeing activities, including traditional coffee ceremonies
• Free childcare provision, removing barriers to participation for mothers
• A welcoming, trauma-informed space designed to engage women who may not otherwise access mainstream services

This event is part of Mahtsen CIC’s community-led and preventative programme addressing health inequalities and social isolation.
