Macc invites you to join our Trustee Training Video Series, designed to equip trustees with essential knowledge for effective charity governance. We will be hosting 3 bite sized video sessions to guide you through the key aspects of being an effective trustee. Our thanks to 4CT for creating these resources from Macc’s training.

Video 1: Being a Trustee - Monday 4 November

Learn the key duties of trustees, the importance of the governing document, and how to manage risks effectively. This video provides a foundational understanding of a trustee's role, supported by a quiz to reinforce key concepts.

Video 2: Demonstrating Good Governance - Wednesday 13 November

Explore best practice for ensuring good governance, managing conflicts of interest, and safeguarding charity assets. This video also includes a trustee induction checklist and guidance on fostering transparency and accountability within your charity.

Video 3: Risk Management - Thursday 21 November

Gain insights on risk management, safeguarding policies, and financial protocols. Learn how to protect your charity’s assets and prepare for unexpected challenges with a business continuity plan.

Each of these sessions will be facilitated by a member of Macc's Capacity Building team and will offer a chance for participants to ask any questions and/or be signposted to relevant resources and materials.

Join us for the second of our three part video series, focusing on demonstrating good governance. This video explores best practice and offers advice to enable you to ensure good governance, identify and manage potential conflicts of interests and safeguard your charity’s assets. To support prospective trustees, the video features an induction checklist and offers guidance on how you can ensure transparency and accountability for your charity.

This session is available only to trustees of charities who have a majority of their beneficiaries located in the city of Manchester.
