The Race Equality Foundation, with a coalition of partners including the Muslim Charities Forum are hosting 'The Media’s Role: Narratives and Rhetoric of the Racist Riots'. The final session in the four-part series ‘Responding to the Racist Riots.’

Four months after the racist riots that took place this August, this webinar series is an opportunity for key stakeholders to collaborate, reflect on the causes of the riots, and build lasting solutions that prevent racist violence.

This last webinar will explore the impact of enduring Islamophobic and racist narratives - both before and in the aftermath of the riots - and will examine the media’s role in perpetuating this harmful rhetoric. The session will also open up a discussion on what steps the voluntary sector and public sector can take to push back and challenge these harmful narratives.

Be part of a thought-provoking exchange between key stakeholders in the voluntary and the journalism field, who bring forward a range of perspectives and insights on these issues.
