Responding to Adult Exploitation and use of the Care Act: promoting autonomy, understanding coercion, and importance of disruption

This session will explore how the Care Act supports rather than obstructs responses to adult exploitation. It will focus on the importance of restoring autonomy where coercion undermines decision-making, recognising disguised compliance or apparent consent, use of legal options, balancing protection with empowerment and challenging victim blaming attitudes.
