In partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University and Healthy Communities, Healthy Me, Manchester’s Digital Strategy are thrilled to be hosting a free AI skills workshop for community organisations and VCSEs.

Whether you’re excited to explore the potential of AI or looking to develop existing skills, join us for a hands-on training session to explore the practical ways AI could support your work and benefit the communities you serve.

About the event
Designed for anyone currently working or volunteering in a Manchester-based VCSE or community organisation supporting residents at risk of digital exclusion, the three-hour training workshop aims to demystify the world of AI.

Attendees will have the chance to interrogate the risks, ethics and opportunities of AI; explore potential applications within the context of their organisation; and experiment with a range of AI tools in a safe environment.

Across the morning, the workshop will cover topics including:

  • What AI is, and how it works
  • How AI is already being used in our everyday lives
  • The risks, opportunities and ethical challenges presented by Generative AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT
  • How AI could amplify the support already offered by VCSEs and community organisations

No prior experience with AI is required – just a good working knowledge of internet browsers, a mobile device or laptop, and the curiosity to learn! Participants should have an account with ChatGPT created before the workshop.
