Association of Chairs: Trustee Recruitment Cycle: getting the right mix of trustees

Venue
Online

Strong boards require trustees with a rich mix of skills, experience and characteristics but how do you find the ideal people and get them on board?

Reach Volunteering launched the Trustee Recruitment Cycle in 2021 to help boards recruit more effectively and inclusively.  During this session, Janet Thorne, CEO of Reach Volunteering, will guide you through the six stages of the Trustee Recruitment Cycle to help you build the board that your charity needs.

This session will help you:

  • Define the mix of skills and attributes you want to recruit for
  • Understand how to recruit trustees from diverse backgrounds
  • Gain tips on advertising, interviewing  and more

Here’s what our attendees said last time:

“As a Chair with a system already in place for recruitment and induction, I found it very helpful for covering areas we have not fully addressed, e.g. how to write adverts to appeal to wider audiences”

“Fantastically helpful session. Thank you! Realistic and very practical. Clear, concise and direct lots of useful tips”

“It was all very useful indeed – and just the right amount of information”

What to expect

The session will be held over the online platform Zoom using the webinar format which allows you to view the speakers only. There will be an opportunity to ask questions using the Q&A function during the session and there will be additional time for questions and discussion at the end.

We have an inclusive approach to engaging with people and recognise that some people have different needs. To request a reasonable adjustment for an event, please let us know your access requirements when completing the booking form and we will contact you about how we can help.
