Skills-based volunteering opportunities

Our skills-based volunteering opportunities allow individual employees to complete a task for voluntary and community group and organisations that will make a difference in how they develop and grow. The volunteering opportunities are varied but try to make use of skills and knowledge that employees may have (and that the groups need!) and in return help them to develop new ones, build confidence and increase wellbeing.

You may also be interested in being a Trustee for an organisation in the VCSE sector.

Various

Waythrough specialise in mental health, alcohol, drugs, housing, and related areas. We provide high quality, evidence-based services, which are designed around the needs of the people we support.

Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We incorporate our values of kindness, courage, and respect in to all the support that we offer.

We have over 200 services based across England, that each offer specialised support within the local community. You could add to this, sharing and building upon your existing experience, with massive benefits to your organisation!

In Manchester, we have a variety of housing support services that would benefit from the support of external organisations.

Your team could be involved in:

  • Supporting a service with their marketing
  • Facilitating a financial management session for the people we support
  • Facilitating an IT skills session for the people we support
  • Facilitating a life skills session for the people we support, discussing topics such as universal credit and CV writing skills
  • Facilitating a cooking group session for the people we support, which could include budgeting whilst shopping and how to prepare a meal

If you have any alternative ideas for your team to support us, we would love to hear them! We are flexible with our offers and these are available throughout the year.
