Manchester Veg People is a co-operative of local organic growers and restaurants working together to provide fresh, seasonal food of the highest possible quality. In their first year they sold fresh local produce with a value of £22,000 despite not having their own vehicle and premises. Imagine what they could do this year and in future years with your help.

Free HIV Training from Brook

Brook Manchester have been successful in securing funds to deliver free HIV resource training in Manchester. The training is designed for existing and experienced staff who work directly with young people. The resources are designed to fit into various subjects in Science, Citizenship, English and Media at Key Stages 3 and 4.

To promote this campaign and get young people involved they have decided to run a competition to promote their campaign, and have designed a poster to promote it.

VM Movement Thoughtful Thursdays - For Volunteer Managers

VM Movement are all about championing volunteer management & helping managers of volunteers to connect, learn & share stuff. It is run entirely through voluntary contribution of volunteer managers, and they’re always happy to hear from other volunteer managers who want to get involved.

The VM Movement lead an informal learning and discussion chat on twitter every Thursday, called Thoughtful Thursday (#ttvolmgrs), which is a great way of sharing your ideas, opinions, thoughts, etc. with other people who carry out a similar role.

Manchester City Council – Mental Wellbeing Grant Programme 2013/15

The Directorate for Adults, Health and Wellbeing is now inviting applications for Mental Wellbeing Grant funding for the period 1st August 2013 to 31st March 2015.

The Mental Wellbeing Grant will be prioritised on services that improve people’s mental health and wellbeing. The objective is to move towards an approach that requires services to be pro-active in encouraging people to do more for themselves, to balance the promotion of better mental health and wellbeing, together with care and treatment when appropriate.
