Macc is looking for committed and caring people to get involved in shaping the future of our work to support and develop a thriving voluntary, community and faith sector in Manchester. Our role includes:

The Big Tree Plant funding scheme

The main aim of The Big Tree Plant funding scheme is to encourage and support community groups to plant trees in neighbourhoods where people live and work.

The Forestry Commission want to help improve the quality of life of those living in England’s towns, cities and residential areas by making neighbourhoods more attractive, healthy places to live; especially in areas of greatest deprivation and/or where there is little greenery.

Grants now available for community enterprises

Are you concerned about the threat of closure of your local pub or post office for example, then why not take it over? Do you think you are better placed to run a local service currently run by your local authority, then why not investigate the possibility of delivering it yourself?

There are Pre-Feasibility Grants available for amounts of up to £10,000 for organisations to build internal capacity to help them to compete to deliver public services and/or own and manage assets.

Cheetham Communities First Funding – Deadline 28 Feb

Your second opportunity to apply for funding from the Cheetham Community First programme will run from the 11 February 2013, with all applications to be received by midday on 28 February 2013.

This is a matched funding programme, which means that every £1 provided in funding must be matched by a similar amount of in-kind donations (this means donations of cash, services, free products or volunteer time). The fund is to assist not for profit, voluntary and community groups to develop exciting projects which meet Cheetham’s ward priorities.
