This regional programme is open to voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across the North West region interested or involved in social prescribing. This free programme from the National Academy of Social Prescribing’s North West Thriving Communities Team will teach you about social prescribing and the VCSE eco-system that enables social prescribing to be successful.

Scope are here to support and work with people with any disability, learning difficulty, mental health condition (e.g. anxiety, depression), physical impairment, sensory impairment, or long term health condition, and anybody who is neurodivergent, including autistic people.

In keeping with the positive feedback received last year, the Directors are again producing a series of pre-recorded presentations in relation to the 2021/22 Annual Report and Accounts, alongside outlining Plans for the Future. A ‘Membership Report’ update will also available from the Lead Governor, with the results of the 2022 Governor Elections/Nominations also being highlighted.

The University of Manchester are looking for voluntary sector community organisations in Greater Manchester that support older adults and/or mental health to provide input into planning a research project. The project will be broadly about the implications of your organisation’s involvement in social prescribing by health and social care organisations. For example, its impact on capacity or how you work.

GMCVO are seeking expressions of interest from Greater Manchester Voluntary, Community or Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations for grants of up to £15,000 to develop trauma responsive communities.

The aim of the grants is to upskill VCSE organisations that work in the field/s of domestic violence, sexual health or sexual abuse.

In 2019, the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership asked people across Greater Manchester to tell them about the role and impacts of alcohol in their communities. More than 80 local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, more than 5,000 people, joined in the Big Alcohol Conversation. From this, findings and recommendations were produced.

A new public consultation has been launched, inviting Greater Manchester residents, community groups, and local businesses to have their say on exciting new plans to make more outdoor spaces smokefree in Greater Manchester. This will include suggestions on the places they’d most like to see become smokefree and is a great opportunity for the public to play an active part in shaping the initiative.
