Manchester City Council, along with key partners across the City, have embarked on an ambitious three to five year partnership with children's charity the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK). The programme is part of a global UNICEF initiative launched in 1996 that reaches close to 30 million children in 40 countries.
UNICEF UK’s Child Friendly Cities and Communities programme will put children’s rights at the heart of all the work, across the city with partners, for children and young people as Manchester works towards international recognition as a UNICEF UK Child Friendly City.
Through taking part in the programme, it aims to create a city where all children have a meaningful say in, and truly benefit from, the local decisions, services and spaces that shape their lives.
One of the first steps to become a Child Friendly City is to undertake UNICEF Introduction to Children's Rights Training, find out more here
Join child rights experts from UNICEF UK for a practical and interactive introduction to children’s rights as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
