Ending Youth Violence in East Manchester Small Grants Programme

The East Manchester Ending Youth Violence Small Grants Programme will provide funding for voluntary, community and faith organisations working with young people in the East Manchester SRF area.

The grants will support work with young people who are involved in youth violence or are at risk of becoming involved.

Grants of up to £3,000 are available for activities and support for 13-25 year olds from the East Manchester SRF area to be delivered before 31 March 2013.

The programme will fund organisations to provide opportunities, support and activities for young people which address at least one of the outcomes below:
• Increasing positive opportunities and support for young people involved in violent crime & gangs/or at risk of becoming so.
• Reducing gang and violent youth crime.
• Reducing the number of first time entrants to the criminal justice system.
• Improving the relationship between young people and the police.

The programme will fund voluntary, community and faith organisations to work with young people from the East SRF area. Smaller voluntary and community organisations are encouraged to apply and Greater Manchester Youth Network are able to offer support and advice to applicants. This is a rolling programme. A panel will meet monthly to consider applications until the allocation is spent. First panel meets early December.
