Impact of the Refugee Family Reunion Suspension on Voluntary Sector Organisations

In September 2025, the sudden suspension of the Refugee Family Reunion route had a significant impact on services and communities. Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU) have an opportunity to feed back to the Home Office about the pressures voluntary sector organisations are facing as a result of the suspension. GMIAU want to make sure the true impact on services, staff and the families affected is heard.

GMIAU will share the information gathered through this form with the North West Regional Strategic Migration Partnership (RSMP), who will feed back to the Home Office. GMIAU may also use your responses in a briefing to document and share widely the impact the suspension is having which will strengthen their call to reopen the Refugee Family Reunion route. This briefing will be public, and will be shared on GMIAU’s website and social media.
