Refugee Community Organisations Funding Workshop Project

Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) are offering seven Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs) support through a series of four workshops aimed at improving their capacity to assess and apply for funding. The workshops will be practical and participatory, and require the commitment of the participants to preparation research and consultation.

The workshops will be a half day each and run over 4 consecutive weeks:
• Workshop 1: What makes a good funding application, what do funders want?
• Workshop 2: Your project proposal (Governance, Evidence, and Project Management, working out the details to get it funded)
• Workshop 3: Your chosen funder the application form or process
• Workshop 4: Finalising your application

Participants will be selected by application and interview to be held on 30 June 2014 at MRSN.

Participating RCOs will be required to nominate 2 course attendees who will commit to attending ALL workshops and completing the tasks required for the successful completion of the course.

Failure to attend will result in a charge of £10 per person per workshop, although individual and personal circumstances will be considered.

Outcomes:
Seven RCO have improved capacity to write fundable applications and seven RCOs successfully submit a small funding application each

Delivery:
The course will run on consecutive Wednesday mornings 9.30am – 12.30pm from 9 – 30 July 2014.

TS4SE will deliver a consultant trainer, course materials and ongoing support as a pro bono support package; MRSN will cover costs of room hire, expenses and copying, administration and coordination of participants.

Course participants will be expected to provide their own writing materials and IT resources.
