The Refugee Transitions Outcomes Fund (RTOF) pilot programme is now operating in Greater Manchester.
The RTOF (also known in GM as the Greater Manchester Refugee Integration Partnership) is a government funded pilot programme to support newly granted refugees across Greater Manchester in the areas of Housing, Employment and Integration. Greater Manchester has been funded to provide support to 600 people over the course of the programme, with funding ending in March 2024. As part of this programme individuals will receive dedicated support from a Local Authority key worker to help them into housing and support them with their integration into local community. They will also receive one-to-one support from a specialist refugee employment support organisation, Breaking Barriers, with a history of supporting refugees into work across the country.
To be eligible for support under RTOF an individual must have:
- Received either Refugee Status or Humanitarian Protection status from 20 February 2020
- Live in a Greater Manchester borough
- Be economically active and willing to receive employment support from a specialist refugee employment support organisation
Support on RTOF is being led by Greater Manchester’s local authorities, however it’s known that local VCSE organisations play a key role in supporting refugees across the city-region and are in contact with and supporting people that could benefit hugely from this programme. The programme is looking to work with VCSE organisations across the region to ensure it is reaching as many people as it can who would benefit from support.
If you would like more information on the programme of support, or if you are working with any refugees who meet the above criteria and would benefit from support contact the Local Authority contacts below who are leading the delivery of RTOF in Greater Manchester.
