Step into Care is a fully-funded entry level work-based recruitment programme in Greater Manchester aimed at people who are currently out of work and education and are interested in pursuing a career in adult social care.
The programme identifies people with the right values who are aspiring to develop a long-term career in social care and matches them with the right employer, to be considered for current vacancies in support roles within their organisation, including care, catering, housekeeping and laundry services.
Step into Care programme provides:
- Value-based online recruitment process with fully funded DBS check
- Virtual face to face training, delivered through distance learning, focussing on the theory
- elements of the Care Certificate
- Participants are then matched with a local adult social care provider and complete a voluntary placement, during which suitability can be further assessed by the employer
- Those considered suitable for a career in social care are then offered employment
Fully funded - with no cost to the employer
Who can join?
- 19+
- Unemployed or on a low income
- Right to work in the UK
- Able to commit to a 5 week training course via zoom
What’s involved?
- 5 weeks online training over zoom and CANVA
- 24 hour work placement/ working interview
- A job in care for those successful on placement
