25 Jun 2021 - 09:49 by michelle.foster

princes trustIn partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority, The Prince’s Trust are seeking to fund locality specific projects that can deliver targeted pre-employment courses for groups of young people that will act as a pathway into a job or apprenticeship within growth or foundational sectors.

The ambition is not only to support young people at a time of great need, but to enable Greater Manchester to come out of the pandemic looking confidently into the future – aligning with a clear plan for growing industries providing sustainable, good quality, ‘future-focused’ jobs in the region.

Key focus of applications:

  • The proposal of courses that can recruit and engage young people aged 16 – 25 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET)
  • The courses will act as a pathway into a job, apprenticeship or training that is within growth or foundational sectors, informed by the needs of specific localities
  • Projects will need to incorporate a work placement, involve employer partners in the programme design and provide a level of mental health and wellbeing support for participants
  • Applicants can apply for up to £80,000 per project, starting from September 2021 onwards, with delivery completing by 31 August 2022

The Prince’s Trust are encouraging all projects to focus on a specific Greater Manchester local authority where there is a proven evidence base of the need for support. As such, the fund is split into Lots, covering the ten Local Authority areas of Greater Manchester, as follows:
Lot 1: Bolton | Lot 2: Bury | Lot 3: Manchester | Lot 4: Oldham | Lot 5: Rochdale | Lot 6: Salford | Lot 7: Stockport | Lot 8: Tameside | Lot 9: Trafford | Lot 10: Wigan
