eVisa support sessions at GMIAU

The Home Office is now using a digital system - eVisas - to replace physical proof of immigration status. Greater Manchester Aid Unit (GMIAU) know that not everyone will have managed to access their eVisa, or may not be aware they need to, and that this may now be affecting their access to services, employment, benefits, and housing.

From the 9 January 2025, GMIAU is offering free support sessions to help people to access their eVisa. The sessions will run every Thursday until 27 March 2025, between 10am-3pm at GMIAU’s offices: 1 Delaunays Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 4QS.

If you or someone you are working with would like to attend, they can contact Nicola Burgess – [email protected] - or just attend one of the sessions.

GMIAU are able to assist anyone who requires support with the process, and will prioritise Those who have claimed asylum in the UK and:

  • Who have been granted leave as a refugee; or
  • Granted humanitarian protection; or
  • Granted leave to remain on the basis of their human rights; or
  • Were initially granted under any of the above categories and now hold Indefinite Leave to Remain
