The government has commissioned six centres (the What Works Network, https://www.gov.uk/what-works-network) to summarise and share research with local decision-makers including commissioners, head teachers, police and crime commissioners.

Their role will be to: generate a summary of evidence synthesis; translate the evidence; absorb the evidence; and promote the evidence. In short their job is to make it easier for local decision-makers (and the rest of us) to find out about, understand and use the evidence where it exists.
