This is an exciting time to join the Our Manchester Disability Partnership Team as the Our Manchester Disability Plan and Partnership are currently undertaking significant strategic development.
The Partnership are seeking an Independent Chair who is a disabled person or has lived experience of disability who lives or works in Manchester to join their existing Co-Chair to lead the Partnership Board through this period of review and refresh.
The Partnership are seeking an individual who has a strong commitment to disability equality, removing barriers to independence and inclusion of disabled people and who has a desire to work with a number of stakeholders and partners to achieve this ambition whilst maintaining disabled people and their organisations at the heart of the approach and activities.
The role will be for a maximum of three years, is currently voluntary and out of pocket expenses can be paid.
The time commitment will be:
- A minimum of four Partnership Board meetings per year
- Other occasional meetings with the co-chair including planning for Partnership meetings
- Occasional meetings with chairs of the OMDP Engagement Group and other OMDP workstreams
- Representing the OMDP at meetings and events with key stakeholders as required
Given the extensive Governance and Chairing and experience of the remaining Co-Chair support and development will be provided, therefore previous Chairing experience is not required. Commitment to the aims of OMDP and experience of driving and achieving change in Partnership with others is an essential requirement.
