Ideas into Action programme for social entrepreneurs from a refugee background

Ideas into Action is run in partnership Result CIC, TERN and Social Enterprise UK. The programme helps with the most essential steps during the last mile of launching and the first steps of growing a social venture:

  • skillsConfidence and keeping going as they work on launching the venture and getting first funding
  • Fundraising including marketing, grant writing and funder connections, as well as supported crowd funding campaigns
  • Professional networks and social capital in the social enterprise and non-profit industry
  • Building their team / gaining access to volunteer talent
  • Solidarity from other like-minded social entrepreneurs at the same stage of the journey

The programme runs for 14 weeks, from the 1 week of March to mid-June 2022.

Who is it for?
Refugees and people from a refugee background in the UK who are motivated to start and run a successful social enterprise, charity or other not-for-profit organisation which benefits the community and/or the environment, in the UK or abroad.

The programme is right for you if you have already:

  • Established what problem you are trying to solve
  • Established who your users, beneficiaries or customers are
  • Piloted and tested your product or service
  • Been working on your idea for a while
