About the speakers;

Robert and Ian are Listening Volunteers at Manchester Samaritans. They also work together in a wide range of organisations doing Workplace Outreach for the branch. They talk about The Samaritans and the extraordinary power of listening. To feel heard by another person is one of the most healing and empowering experiences we can have. Today they will talk about how to listen really well and how we can all develop that skill especially at work."

Robert has been a Listening Volunteer at Manchester And Salford Samaritans for nine years. Robert is also on the Prison Team that supports the Samaritans Listener Scheme in Manchester Prison and Forest Bank. He also delivers professional development sessions for the Probation Service to explore the challenges of working with suicidal service users and how active listening can be a powerful tool in those situations. Robert was Branch Director for three years.

Ian has been a Listening Volunteer at Manchester And Salford Samaritans for four years. Ian is also a trustee at the branch, a role he's been carrying out for the last two years.
