The Bright Ideas Fund supports new community business ideas through the start-up and planning stages with tailored business support, to the implementation stage with grants of up to £15,000.
The Weavers' Company Benevolent Fund has grants available of up to £15,000 for organisations working with: young offenders; prisoners and ex-prisoners; and young disadvantaged people, especially those at risk of criminal involvement. The Fund is especially interested in helping smaller organisations which offer direct services.
Organisations must normally be registered charities or in the process of applying for registration. To make sure grants of this size have an impact, it will not normally fund large organisations.
The Salford Dragon Boat Festival is a charity fund raising, team building event that is quick to pick up, progressive in nature and ideal for both novices and experienced crews alike.
GMCVO have launched the third stage of a grants programme to get Greater Manchester Walking.
Funded by Greater Manchester Moving (with money from Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership), partnership grants of up to £15,000 are being offered to support activities that encourage people who are usually less active to start or increase the amount they walk regularly.
Forever Manchester Awards are here to support your group to do what makes your community happy. Awards of £251 – £1,000 are available for small, Greater Manchester based, locally led organisations who are either less than 5 years old or have an annual income of less than £25,000.
A £4.9 million programme to tackle unemployment has been launched in April 2019 with backing from the European Social Fund.
The funds have been granted by the government’s Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority to the WEA (Workers' Educational Association), an adult education charity which provides training and learning opportunities for people at risk of exclusion.
Building and civil engineering company, Sir Robert McAlpine, has announced the launch of its Strong Foundations Grant in partnership with social enterprise Semble, to support grassroots initiatives around central Manchester and Salford.
The commission will be to 'develop a new model of homelessness prevention for under 35 year olds delivered through a social outcomes based contract'. The estimated value of the contract is circa £8m over 3 or 4 years. Greater Manchester wants a project that will provide young people who are at risk of homelessness, or homeless, with a targeted intervention aimed at preventing these circumstances whilst also equipping them with the tools they need for life and work.

From 21 January, eligible causes are be able to submit their projects to the Aviva Community Fund through Crowdfunder. Funding applications are open to projects looking to secure up to £50,000.
