£5,000 grant funding available for community groups in Manchester getting behind greener travel

As part of the Greener Journeys initiative, three grants of £5,000 are up for grabs for Greater Manchester-based community organisations, clubs and charities to promote bus travel to their members or supporters. Working alongside local bus company Stagecoach and other major bus operators, Greener Journeys hopes to find local groups with the influence and credibility to encourage people in their communities to leave their cars behind and try the bus instead.

Adactus Neighbourhood Fund – Funding still available

Almost £60,000 has been allocated to 46 community projects across Manchester and Trafford through the first round of the Neighbourhood fund and Adactus can now announce the second round is open.

There is over £17,000 of funding available to residents groups, community groups, charitable organisations or social enterprises working in the areas where Adactus manage homes.

The Thomas Wall Trust

The Thomas Wall Trust will consider grants of up to £1,000 for smaller charities active in serving the social and/or educational needs of their communities, especially where a grant can make a real impact in improving the lives of local people.

The Trust will consider applications from registered charities who:
• Have an annual income of less than £200,000
• Serve the social and/or educational needs of their communities
• Are able to make a real impact in improving the lives of local people.

Cash for Kids Greater Manchester

Cash for Kids is the official charity of Key 103 & Magic 1152 and provides a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester.

Each year they hope to have thousands of pounds available for grants to children’s charities, individuals and many other causes throughout their transmission area.

The Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund was established to promote, enhance, improve and protect both the natural and built environment in the local community. The Trustees award grants of a maximum of £3,000.

The Community Trust Fund award grants to a maximum of £3,000.00. To be successful a group must:
• Carry out positive work in the community and be of charitable nature and be ‘Not for Profit’ status.
• Be Community, Socially or Environmentally focused
• Based within the area of benefit

The Royal Brewery Fund

The Royal Brewery Fund’s priority is to encourage and support grass-root community activity. This means small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage active participation from volunteers, have minimal cash reserves and limited access to funding support.

Applications are invited from community groups based in the Moss Side and Hulme areas that wish to improve circumstances for people within these communities.
