A small team of North West based social entrepreneurs have decided to come together and develop Offline Festival in the North, with the aim to connect likeminded thinkers. The first step is to collect information from networks to build a festival that people want.
Many of you will already be aware of and have participated in Manchester City Council (MCC) and Manchester Health and Care Commissioning’s (MHCC), joint review of their Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) infrastructure contracts held with Macc that took place earlier this year. The purpose of undertaking the joint review was to provide feedback on the existing services to inform the next steps and future infrastructure contract.
Ambition for Ageing has developed this work in partnership with the Great Place GM project. Both partnerships are collaborating on a joint piece of work to ensure Greater Manchester is a great place to grow older.
Curiosity aims to use the power of exciting and engaging science activities to create change for children and young people experiencing disadvantage in the UK. It is a partnership between BBC Children in Need and Wellcome.
The idea behind the Bardsley Fund is to provide a positive, friendly and accessible approach to gaining much needed financial support for your group. Bardsley will enjoy seeing applications from family, generational and sports focused groups and projects. The Bardsley Fund aims to encourage and support grassroots community activity. This means small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage people to get involved as volunteers and who just need a bit of financial help to be able to work with their community in the way they’d like.
The Oglesby Charitable Trust is launching a new £275,000 fund focused on supporting people who are refugees or seeking asylum in the North West of England.
Information for the bulletin is compiled from a number of sources including Grantfinder, and direct from funders themselves. It showcases just a few of the hundreds of funding opportunities available for local community, voluntary and faith organisations.
This bulletin is produced by a partnership of local support and development agencies across Greater Manchester.
There are a growing number of Community Interest Companies (CIC) and other businesses that exist for a social purpose. Many charities are having to re-invent themselves as social enterprises as grant funding has diminished or disappeared.
The seminar will focus on diversifying revenues and wider sources of funding. We will also explore routes to sustainability and how to build a wider network.

Community Events Funding is available to registered community groups as development funding to help community based not-for-profit celebrations and events grow and move towards becoming self-sustaining.
