This session will help you gain a better understanding of the role and responsibilities of being a trustee. It is an ideal introduction for new trustees, or as a refresher for existing board members.  

Ever wondered what it is that trustees should do? 

This training explains good governance within charities, managing risks, charity reporting requirements and how to ensure your charity is meeting its public benefit requirements.

  • General good governance principles

  • Strategy vs operational activity  

  • Managing risk 

  • Conflicts of interest 

Attendees will leave this session with a better understanding of what is expected of them as trustees and equipped with essential knowledge to give them the confidence to carry out the role effectively. Attendees will learn how to access guidance and support. 

It is available to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) groups who have the majority of their beneficiaries located within the city of Manchester.
